Default 6v batteries in series mystery

I have 2 6v batteries wired in series for my 12v boat.
Very good and new batteries, Trojan T105, and a very good smart charger, GPC45 MAX.
Problem is when charging, one battery bubbles like crazy and the other doesn't.
The one that doesn't bubble is reading in the " fair " area on my tester. The one that bubbles every time is in the upper "good" area.

    Setup is wired correctly.
    Terminals are clean.
    Plenty of water in both.

    Hot battery is at 7.36v
    Other is at 6.34v
    Both on the charger

    Thanks for your ideas.

Just curious here, lets consider "Battery #1" and "Battery #2".
In what order do you have the charger connected, and with regard to that order, which battery is bubbling?
And, are you charging the batteries in series, or are they separate while charging?

Brett I’m going to say this hasn’t been going on to long and it worked good when you first set it up. Next I’m going to say you have a shorted cell in that battery and if left off charger it would eventually pull both batteries down. Disconnect the 2 from each other. Leave disconnected for several days then with your meter check voltage on both. Or pull them and have load tested.

    You're right
After being on the charger tonight. I hope they will equalize.
Fishing tomorrow so they will get another chance to get right.

Hopefully you will make it thru your slabfest tomorrow!
I agree, you may have a cell going bad in one that is creating woes.
I sometimes charge batteries in parallel, but generally I prefer to charge one at a time to check for little nuances that tattletail on an upcoming issue (Unless I am pressed for time). For example, often I find that if a battery charges up faster than normal, it also goes down faster than normal!
    Good luck!

    These are 6v batteries.
I'll check to see if my charger works on 6v solo.
    Thanks

Switch the batteries in your series and see what happens.

How big is your jumper wire? I use 2ga or 4ga jumpers no matter what battery I am using. Too thin a jumper will cause voltage problems.
