They don't last long. If I get more than 4 or 5 years out of one, I've done good.

Don't know what you have , but if your bulb and fuel lines are not ethanol compliant i would replace all or you will have engine problems shortly.

I got a new bulb and 6 ft hose off E bay for $13. Made in China? probably. Does that bother me? It used too until I found out that everybody makes them there. The kicker was when I found out that Mercury 40,50,60 and 70 hp motors are made there too.

The prices that I run into are like 18-20.00 just for the primer bulb, will try e-bay just gotta watch the taxs added on to the price now, what a bummer, your right about every thing comming from china.I have to say when it comes to boats every part that has to do with water you can guarntee the price will be about Three times over.I have priced an outboard part local, and that very same part,is 1/3rd cheaper online, then local cost wish I could help local business but when there prices are that much over,I have to go where the cost is the cheapest.I have replaced coils and the local cost was 45.00 and online was 12.00. Is business that bad that they have to markup there parts that much just to surive...

Yes, the profit margin on boats, cars, truck, motorcycles is pretty slim. Parts and service sales are what keep the doors open. Back in mid 70’s I was on a research ship and one of the things I took care of was 2 Boston whalers with Johnson outboards. I got a complete set of Manuel’s from the OMC school in Miami. In this set of Manuel’s for parts it listed cost and the markup price dealer has to sell for. Some parts in the .50 to 20.00 range at that time had up to 460% markup. Higher they got the less mark up on them. I don’t like it either but I do understand it. I find parts on the net that I don’t know how they can sell so cheap. I just bought a intake hose for a pathfinder, most priced in 45-55 dollar range, dealer pricing 87.00, I payed 9.86 for hose in factory package.
