If your talking about the kind that greases through the end of the spindle I have it on my trailer.

I have some questions but will wait and see if anyone has this system.

It has a grease zerk. Maybe that's the same thing as a spindle. You put grease in until all the old grease comes out. I am new to this kind of system. I got the trailer on a warranty claim because my old trailer frame cracked. On the old trailer it had the permanatly sealed bearing hubs so I didn't have to do any bearing maintenance just replace the whole hub when it went bad. I got the trailer last fall. So far I have not done anything to it. I'm leaving next week to drive about 700 miles one way to Canada to fish. What I don't know is what kind of maintenance I should do. I'm kind of afraid to pop the cap off thinking it might allow water to get in easier. I am tempted to not mess with it before trip besides jacking it up and making sure it spins good and doesn't move from side to side.
My ranger trailer has something similar and I re-grease it once a year. I would do it b/c you don't know how well it was greased from the dealer.
Where is the grease zerk? I remove rubber plug in cap. Grease zerk is right there. Jack up wheel, spin tire feel back of axle next to hub, if you feel roughness got bad bearing. If not, hook up greases gun and start pumping in new grease until all old grease comes out and you get new grease. Take a piece of folded cardboard and put under hub to catch all old grease. One full spin tire a few times then hit it again a couple of pumps. Good to go. Also when you first start pumping watch for any excess water. A little I don’t worry about.

I do exactly the same as cray and my last 2 karavan trailers with the reliable sure lube hub systems have been trouble free..slowly pump the new grease in until all the old is out while occasionally spinning the wheel.Have some rags and something to catch the old grease as it can get quite messy.
Its easy to tell the diff between the new and old and i always use high quality Lucas stuff.
For non bearing buddy hubs with just a grease fitting under the rubber cover on the outside, there is no harm greasing it some during the season. I give mine a shot or two whenever I think about it, especially if I am pulling my boat some distance. Mine has a small hole on the inside that the grease comes out, not blowing grease out the inner seal. I look under there to see what comes out, if it looks good, I'm good to go. If not, I would give it some more. The cardboard trick under there is a good one. Sometimes when I unload my boat and park the trailer, I wipe that area, too. Only takes a minute.
I advise at least once a season, jack it up and spin/pull on the wheel. No harm in breaking it down and looking. I found a bad bearing last year that way that otherwise was not exhibiting any bad signs at all. One roller bearing was broken in two.
No substitute for a good physical inspection.
