Had a similar problem, took a couple of months to clear. The problem was a stuck thermostat... at times. Replaced.
The mechanics told me that it's a problem mercury was aware of, good luck.

Ok guys I got a new phone so it's taken me a while to move all my junk to the new phone. I finally got the mercury back running sweet! I'll list the problems and fixes that I did. It's running good as new! Thanks for all the help!

First I pulled thermostat, just like yall guys said there was some trash stuck in there. Cleaned and flushed system, no more continuous beep.

Second I discovered that the fuse block thingie was burnt (sorry I dont know correct name) so I cut it out and replaced it.

Third I found that my cranking battery was bad and I replaced it.
