Thread: johnson 25 hp year 2002

i am installing another water pump not sure how many i have put in .i fish in shallow water an making a lot of silt run in pump.i am sure a lot of you guys know what i mean.here is my question bearings.while i have it down an water is not in shape to fish i was thinking about replacement of them.i have put bearings in trucks-trailers but not outboards.may be if not broke dont fix.that is my problem.shaft seens tight very little play.should i go to trouble or not.help would be greatful.

Do not touch it. Like you said, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Those gears set up are nothing like on a truck.
