Evinrude etec
Anyone running an Evinrude etec? Found a used pontoon I want to look at, it has a Evinrude 90 etec on it, only 36 hrs on the motor 2014 model.. Any pros or cons on it?

i got a 2017, 60 hp on a jon boat. etec's are 2strokes but use very little oil. no issues after 270 hours. I heard some of the earlier models had computer/electrical issues that caused overheating and is a costly repair. make sure there is a mechanic that works on them close by as some dealers wont mess with them because of the special computer hook up needed to run diagnostics.

Thanks! I was looking for dealers around where I would have the boat... they're all at least an hour away, pretty much st augustine, daytona, jacksonville etc. I think I'm just going to back away from this one... Seems to be a good deal, but I think that may be the deal killer...
if it would have had a yamaha, suzuki, or honda 4 stroke on it I'd have it
