    Default 2012 Mercury 75 hp 4-stroke

I'm am about to pull the trigger on a major (to me) boat upgrade. 2012 Lowe 175 Stinger w a 75 hp 4-stroke. I've been trying to find solid info on the reliability or major known issues for these models of 4-stroke motors and I'm coming up short.

Just wanted to throw this out and ask if these pre 2015 4-strokes have any major drawbacks? Anything in particular I should inspect specifically on this motor? It has less than 50 hrs on it, boat is immaculate. Service records look good too.
no matter what I'm doing, I've got hunting or fishing on my mind...

I don't know anything about that specific motor but I know quite a few guys with various age Merc 4 strokes (98 to new) and all of them are pretty solid motors. I have a 2017 60 hp and it's a fantastic motor. Best thing I ever bought for my boat.

Have known a few guys with them. Never heard any complaints about them. Not a Merc guy myself but like crappie max they seem to be very reliable engines. I would just make use it gets a new water pump and oil change plus fuel filters before I really got to fishing much.

you will love the boat, its so nice and wide up front you can fish two people in comfort.
those motors are great , just change oil and filter, fuel filter and lower unit as needed. i have the same boat ,bought it new in camo. not one issue so far, enjoy.
