Default 2018 G3 Sportsman 17 Camo horn issue

I have noticed that my horn stopped working on my Sportsman. The only time I would ever use it is when stopped buy local Game Warden and inspected. I called the place I purchased it from and they said its under the dash. Check the
connections. Not under dash!!! I called G3 and they told me its part of the light system on the front (bow). Been using this system since 2006 he said. So since they have been using that for so long maybe one of you guys have had this issue. What would cause the horn to stop working? I have only had boat out 6 times or so and no rain or water should be the issue.

Horns do go bad. Check for voltage going to it when button is pushed. If you have around 12VDC then the horn is bad.

I have never heard a horn work on a g3. Mine doesn't and didn't work when I bought it. Once at a boat show, the salesman and I tried every G3 boat there, and they all sounded just like mine. I just put a whistle on my life jacket. Some use a little hand held air horn. Here, all the water patrol want is some warning sound. The only time I was checked, all they looked at was the fire extinguisher, throwable life jacket, and regular life jackets. Heck, they don't even require a paddle any more.

Look at your front light socket. Those two little rectangular spots in front are where the "horn" is at. On mine I can hear a muffled sound under the dash when I push the button. One day I'll look to see where the sound is coming from. I just might take the socket off one day to see where they got a 1 inch by 1/2 inch horn located.

If it's the horn type on the front light socket like Ranger used for so many years, then that's why it probably isn't working, those things were very much a problem. Being on the bow, if you're ever in rough water, it's not uncommon for water to funnel right into it, especially if you ever spear a wave. After replacing a few on my old Ranger, I finally gave up and just kept a whistle on board to stay legal.

Thanks for all of the comments. Using what you guys said and a little research it is the light/horn combo. It has 2 wires coming from the horn and one isn't connected. So I untape the wiring and located several connectors but each was connected to something else. Go figure. The horn worked when I picked it up at the dealer. And yes its still under warranty so when I go in for the Yamaha 20 hour service I will get them to figure out the horn too. Thanks everyone.
