Have the batteries load tested and wired in series.
hi. I have a Minn Kota pd 70 lb thrust trolling motor. It works ok but it dosent have the power it should. at its maximum it behaves like maybe a 45lb thrust. and also the the lights on the lower part of the trolling unit that tells u if its fully charged don't come on. could it be the power board? all the guts on the motor have been replaced. any help is appreciated.
God first,family, fishing!

Like bill said, first thing is load test barreries. Making sure they are fully charged and in good shape. From there start checking wiring to make sure you have good connections at battery, at back of plug, sit plug on trolling motor wiring. Then go inside a double check the wiring under the covers at board. They just use push on connectors. You could have one burned or loose.

I'm with the others on this. It sounds as though it's a low voltage issue. Check both batteries for proper voltage and load test. Also check voltage at front of boat where the TM is wired in. If you have 24v upfront, I would concentrate on the TM. But it sounds as though you lack 24v. Your battery monitor is designed to sample 24v. If you are only feeding it 12v, it won't begin to show.
