Default Need ideas on rod holder bases

Have my bases coming off my seat poles right now cause i don't want to drill my boat.. Only problem is thats its bulky/ in the way and wabbles when the seat moves.. Need a idea for relocation...thinking some way of making a clamp like mount to go over the edge of the boat..

I feel your pain I used to be that way did not want to drill holes in my gunwales, I finally gave in and now I have drilled a bunch of holes for rod holders at different spots in the boat try 10 Ram bases I mounted. Cannot believe I was that stubborn before made fishing so much easier and enjoyable..

That's very similar to what I did - I couldn't bring myself to pay $30 a bracket from Mack's, so I picked up some 2" x 2" aluminum angle from Lowe's and just cut my own brackets and used carriage bolts with the heads ground down a little. Works great and cheap! I even clam-shelled two pieces of that angle together to make a mount for my depth finder.

I was also hesitant to drill for years. Go ahead, drill it. It will be much more useful.

Maybe you could use a u bolt and mount to the tie off (anchor tie off ). I have seen those. Probably depends on TM

Yea I’m not drilling my new boat. I saw these brackets for the cleats on
Extreme fishing concepts. Several choices for different angles.

I just purchased a single seat rod holder system from Cumberland Crappie and love it. No drill. Seat post goes through the center.
