Cray, the plugs are laying 4,3,2,1. Cylinder 1 isn’t as bad as the others but they’re all bad.

Another thing I just thought of. If that was my motor I'd put a thermostats in it. If it's running to cold in these water temps it can cause it to not burn right.

Cray, one thermostat was stuck open, the other wasn't. I didn't test the one that wasn't stuck open to see what temp it opened at so it may be bad too. The plugs for the two cylinders that had the unstuck thermostat look slightly better than the other two. I don't know if new thermostats will solve all the issues but it's got to help.

EDIT: Also the plugs aren't laying in the order that I thought they were. The two where there is still silver showing were on the side with "good" thermostat.

Actually from pictures plugs don’t look all that bad. You want that porcelain to be just a light tan color. I’m thinking thermostats will help more than you think.

Just curious. Does your motor have a vro pump. Or are you mixing the fuel/oil your self. That sounds partly similar to my 1990 Johnson 150. Best thing I ever did was unhook the vro and mix my own
