I Have one on my 14 ft boat with stick stear -- 25 hp motor. It makes the boat rigid enough that no Transom Saver is needed --- But the Best thing about the Motor set back is it allows a clear area for my new Side Image Helix -- Lots of Folks have to Tilt their motor up ... I dont have to touch Mine

I have been using a Bob’s Maxhine Shop trim and tilt on a Yamaha 25 for the past 4 years with no problems. Works like a charm and you will not find a bad review on them either like you might CMC. Some of his trim and tilts have a 5 yr warantee. Check him out. Tilt and Trim + Tilt/Jack Combo Archives - Bob's Machine. His jack plates are used on a lot of the racing team boats also.

Thanks for the tons of help, I didn't realize so many have the same problem I have.
I like the ones at Bob's thanks for the tip checking on more options tomorrow, I wish I still was working we probably had all the materials laying around to make one.
