I repowered in late summer of 2016 with a 2017 Merc 60, 4 stroke. I'm not positive but I think it's pretty much the same motor but the CT has a heavy duty lower unit or something like that.
I run mine on a 17'-6" Tracker Pro-v 17. Boat runs right around 32-34 mph. I'll fish a couple of times a week and it's been good for me over the last 18 months.
If it's hot or cold or anything in between that motor starts right up and purrs like a kitten, it has plenty of power and is easy on gas.
No regrets for me, I love it.
I'm not sure why you want the CT, I would check with the dealer before you go that route.
BPS had the best price when I bought mine.

I have a 60hp merc ct tiller on my 16' lund alaskan. I believe the ct has a little beefier lower unit and a little more grunt. It is possible that it is geared lower, not sure. Works great on my boat, 30mph is about tops. I'm not interested in going fast, bring it up on plane and throttle back just enough to keep the nose up. Runs like a dream, very smooth. Would purchase again.

I have a command thrust 60 hp with big tiller on my 16' V-16.... command thrust is the same as the old Big Foot... Great for a pontoon boat, too much lower end and prop for a fishing boat,, I can adjust my rpm on the big tiller handle, but I could not get my boat slower than 1.9 mph,,, I tried drift socks,, then the plate that drops down over the prop, now I've got it down to 1.4 mph.. Its all in that big propeller for the command thrust. Just can't slow it down on idle. You can get a different pitch prop for around $100.00 If I could do it all over again I would go with a standard 60 HP 4 Stk. Its a great motor.
