Never had that problem but I would be tempted to try dawn soap. It seems to work very well for cleaning oil off critters when there is an oil spill.

That's what I have done before. Just add a little water and dawn. Drive around and let it slosh around on every thing. May take 3-4 doses but will eventually get it cleaned up. Dawn won't hurt pumps at all.

Go heavy on the Dawn and add some Simple Green, agitate heavily and rinse thoroughly. I had a similar issue from my oil tank in a Javelin bass boat where I messed up and lost a good amount of oil into the bilge. I added the Dawn/Simple Green, 10 gallons or so of water form the garden hose at the house and drove the boat and trailer around town. Once home, I let it marinate for a couple hours, drained it, and rinsed thoroughly with the hose again.

I use the same process with just Simple Green for annual bilge cleaning to keep things tidy back there.

A product call "Awsome" at a Dollar General store. Wont hurt rubber or plastic and only a dollar per bottle. I use it when rebuilding front forks on Goldwings to clean everything up.

The Awesome is good stuff but I use Super Clean most.
