Jamie, most weld er's won't touch it with the foam in there. First I'd find someone to weld it then follow their advice on how to prep it. Heat will defiantly get to the foam and chance of fire.

Thanks, thats what i figured just dread doing it.Crack is at the front of console area, not really wanting to remove console and floor in drop down area.Looking at compartment in front of console earlier i might can cut a hole in it and get the foam out that way.If i did that i could just screw a patch over the hole when im done and re glue carpet in the compartment. If i tear up the foam getting it out what kind should i put back, does it matter.

You could buy some block foam that comes in different thicknesses. They make some for insulation that won’t absorb water. If you could cut it to fit and layer it in there. Or you can buy a liquid self expanding foam you mis two parts together and just pour in then trim after it expands. Just depends if you have wire run’s or plumbing in that area as to which way you might want to go. One thing while torn apart is try to figure out why it cracked to start with and then figure out how to reinforce that area. Your welder should be able to look at that part and help you with a plan.

You can get spray foam in a can at Lowe's that expands in a tight place.

Finally got it welded yesterday, about timeCrack repair.Pulled floor out and cut foam out in the area of the crack. Then the guy welding it used a small sandblaster to strip paint around the crack. After that he blew it out real good and welded it,looks good.Didnt have to remove much foam, but thinking im just gonna stuff foam area with sheet foam and call it good, thanks everyone for all the sugestions.

would recomend only foam that u buy in sheets or how ever, any foam that is 2 part or self expanding in cans,it is very hard to control correct amount.once can is used ,like if u put a little foam in an u want more usually it is pluged up. i dont think it is necessary to that tight, but u can get a caulk to use if cuts are not tight enough. try a laytex caulk they usually work with most closed cell foam.
