Default Trolling Motor Plug / Charging

This may be a stupid question but here goes....
TH Marine used to make a plug that was “Red” and called it a charging plug. My question is can I use it for a regular plug for my trolling motor? Is there some type of difference that I’m not seeing other than it being “Red” and the regular plug being “Black”?

Not that I know of. As long as you got positive to positive and negative to negative it should work just fine. If I remember right it was just supposed to be kinda safety feature. So you didn’t short it out on something with charger plugged in.
