update on motor, took to marine dealer and had him put new impellor in it and he said previous owner lied about having new one put in a year ago, said it was the original one, bolts on lower unit still had original paint on them and had never been broken loose, had him fix a few other issues also.. boat is now ready to hit the water other then installing depth finders.
Is indicator streaming correctly since Impeller replacement?
just going by his word he said it was, I haven't had on water yet hopefully later this week.
Hook the water hose to the flusher on the port side of the mid section and turn the water on full blast. It might take a second but the water should flow like normal. That is what the flusher is for. If it comes out good using the flusher but not on the ear muffs, it is time for a new water pump impeller. You need to replace it every 2 years anyway. The service manual calls for an inspection every 2 years or 200hrs. If I am going that far into a customers motor, the $30 impeller is going to be changed, regardless of the condition of the old one.
