Default Still stumped with water pump

    Here is today's outcome.
This is after 5 minutes. This is also the 3rd impeller this year and not one of them last more than 5 minutes. This time the housing and all pump parts were replaced. Still lasted 5 minutes and this time the key came out in 2 pieces.

You need to figure out proper rotation for the pump. Being installed backward is only reason I can see that would cause those problems. If it is trying to turn backward the veins are going to try to roll over and will tear off or bind up and melt from heat. And that's only thing I can and if your not lubing the housing you need to coat housing with some gear lube or oil.

Thanks cray. I did spray all parts with wd40 when assembling.
I will check into the rotation again. Making me more crazy than i already was.

I use vaseline when I replace impellers.....and Cray is right if you have the rotation wrong it will tear the vanes off after awhile and usually it wont pump water good either.

I always use dishwashing soap to lubricate the impeller. It won't leave any oil residue in the cooling passages.
