    Default Yamalube Ring Free Plus

It was suggested to me to use this fuel additive instead of SeaFoam. Anybody use it with pros or cons? Thanks

    Default Yamalube Ring Free Plus

I have been using the ring free for 10+ years.
I still run a can of seafoam thru once a year.
I think the ringfree is to help with carbon build up.
Maybe G or one of the motor guys will chime in technically.

Was told to use it in my Yamaha 25 four stroke . Worked good . Was also told not to use sea foam as it would cause problems if not introduced to the motor early on . I have used sea foam for ever so what to do always depends on mechanic --------------------I guess .

It says in the manual that came with my Yamaha four stroke to use the ring free additive. What it is for is carbon build up....four stroke engines that are run at idle speeds a lot such as using them to troll with...or just a lot of slow speed operation build up carbon and the piston rings can stick allowing fuel to go by these rings and thus get in your oil. The ring free prevents this. I always put one ounce of ring free to every 10 gal of gas.....and I also use marine stable in my gas also. Been doing this for 13 years now. No problems

Sometimes I do run a little seafoam in it too. I have always used ethanol gas and i do have a water separator filter on the boat that i change once a year and i have never had a fuel related problem.

I have a Yammy 25HP 2-stroke and have run Seafoam in it from the beginning. Going on 7 years now never had a problem. Problem I have with all these additive claims is everyone tosses them out there as gospel but there is zero data to back up any of the claims. Bunch of snake oil salesmen in my opinion. My favorite is the additive for ethanol gas. How exactly does adding something eliminate the ethanol? Maybe it does but just claiming it on a bottle sets off my BS alarm.

I put Seafoam in my outboard, lawn mower, and weed eater. They all start up even after they've sat for months, so that's why I stick with Seafoam.

I use Ring Free in my Yammie. For the price, I can't see why not to use it.
