Thread: Need Help Identifying Boat Manufacturer

Did me some research on Rich Line Boats and What I found was it was made in Richland, mo.. The company was sold to a Jim Dorris in 1973, And continued to make Rich Line boats by Play Craft till 1994 When he started a whole new company called Challenger Boats. According to the article I found on line he refuses to answer question about Rich Line Boats. The 14' Challenger aluminum boat was rated for a 35 H.P. motor and is made from O.o64 gauge aluminum.

I have owned a couple of boats that were similar in style to the boat in question. Both had no tags on them. That style is tough, can take a licking. They performed well then and still do today.
That style of boat was copied by a lot of small manufacturers.

Well it's registered as a Kansas Home Built now, KAZ on the tittle. It would take a whole lot of unnecessary paperwork to change anything. I was wanting to find out for insurance reasons and personal knowledge. The insurance company was happy with RichLine Boat Mfg. So with them that's what it is...Everyone happy. By no later than the third I'll have my motor back all running and ready for another 47-48 yrs of service. It will need the running jet fine tuned as Mr. bender don't have the means, Large enough tank to run the motor at open throttle for enough legth of time without emptying his water tank from the prop. no problem, I can do that on the shake down run with the boat. Now I just need to quit procrastinating and get it finished. Maybe I can talk Momma out of a bit of money this time she's home and get the foam. I figure about two sheets, three at the most of the Dow Utilityfit SB sheets from Lowe's. It's 2"x4'x8', so that's like 8 pieces per sheet that will fit under the bench seats. These are the polypropylene sheets, closed cell foam.
