    Default Back up camera

Has anyone installed the back up cameras that you can buy online or at stores on their vehicle? I’m thinking about getting one if they are worth the money.

I bought one at Advance Auto Parts a few years back. It was the cheapest one they had and it's still going strong. The only negative I've seen is that the plastic camera lens needs to be polished a couple of times per year.

I put one on my truck with a seven inch screen that I bought off of eBay for around 35 dollars and I love it. Buy them off eBay or Amazon as they are a lot cheaper.

I have them on both of my vehicles, very slick, especially for hooking up trailers.

It's a 20 dollar upgrade if you already have the touch screen radio with a camera input.

I really like my I-Ball camera. Wireless. Magnetic mount. When not it use just put it in the glove box.

I put one on my previous SUV. The only issue was the backup lights are in the fender and that would have required running wires up the tailgate and through the access hole down to the lights. Instead I wired the camera to the license plate light. That meant the camera was on anytime I had the lights on. I could turn off the screen display if I wanted to but I found it useful to have on all the time. It lets you keep and eye on your trailer if you are towing and I found it useful when pulling through a parking spot. I was never sure if I was far enough through but with the camera on I can tell exactly where the rear bumper is relative to the lane marking.
My new SUV had the factory camera and I wish it had the option of turning on when in drive.
I got mine from NAPA when they had a sale on them. It was around $50 and worked perfectly. You can buy one that also has the GPS mapping in it, but I already had that so I just got the stand alone camera.

I had installed four Peak back up cameras on fifth wheel campers over the years ( two on my own campers) and they worked great. You could hook up to your boat with ease, keep an eye on what the trailer was doing as well as what traffic was like behind the camper when not towing boat. Recommend this to everyone !
May all the fish tales you catch be longer than the ones you tell !

I had forgotten the brand name I got from NAPA, but it was also a Peak.
