They have EFI now, that's a good deal, I've got a EFI 9.9 Suzuki kicker on my boat, touch the key starts everytime, no fiddling with a choke.

I have a 20hp tohatsu. Just have gotten my break in done according to owners manual. It is very efficient, starts easily, and runs very quiet. Have the one with carbureator, so it was bought right before fuel injection, came out
It runs faster than what i was expecting. No problems to this date.

They used make Nissans too, but Nissan is no longer in the outboard business.

I like mine now. Had some problems when I first got it, 9.8. Oil light would come on and shut down the motor one day and the next it would work fine. Had it back to dealer for repair 3 times. It ran fine in the tank but when the motor was on the boat the problem would occur. I was frustrated. We replaced the sensor and oil pump. Still ran like a dog. Was ready to trade it in. Pulled the cowling and traced all the wires. Found one wire than was just barely making contact. The wire was broken at the connector. Fixed it myself and haven't had the problem since.

Motor sips gas and runs quite. I would buy another one if I had the need. Use it 4 or 5 times a week. 3-4 hours a day trolling from mid May until September. Than use it all fall for waterfowl hunting. Put about 6-700 hours a year on it.

I have A 25 HP Tohatsu 2003.. the only problems with it were my own fault --- Like storing the Boat and not using it over 6 Years and had not run the Gas out of the Motor. I was fishing in My Brothers Boat at the time.. I finally got the Trash and varnish cleaned out and new Hoses and Filter ... the Recoil starter Grease had dried out and would not pull the cord to turn the motor over. Now I am more than pleased with the Kicker on my 14 Foot boat.. I just wished I had bought a 16 footer instead. I need more room....
