It was checked, multiple times. Ive done that one before, in front of others too! We even discussed getting a voltmeter, and seeing if it was bad.

    Perfectly good question!
My own father watched me try to pull start an engine (previous boat of mine, it was a key start), knowing that the whole time I didn't have the key in the on position.

Pulled carb assembly back off, primer check ball was stuck in the gasket, freed it up. Blew out all visible jets, with air, took everything apart. Reassembled, still no fire.
Pulled plugs, could see spark. Boss squirted starting fluid in carb, nothing. Cranked a little more, had fuel dripping from hub.
    Thoughts ? Something still stuck?
I shook the primer assembly, could here ball moving.

There's a spring that holds that ball in place. There's no way to shake it and hear it. If it was the entire carb that you shook, you heard the float.

This is long distance diagnostics so my margin of error is more than a few degrees.

If the carb is correctly assembled and you have good spark, the divider gasket behind the reed cage has most likely failed. When it does that, the two cylinders "swap spit" and it will not run until it's corrected.
If the primer ball does not have the spring in place to close off or meter the fuel supply, the engine will flood very quickly. Once it has flooded, ether will do little good.

Also, I've never seen the primer ball stuck. It sits on a neoprene "donut" and is held in place by the spring. It may not fall out due to some level of adhesion by the fuel but will not bury up. I'm not sure I follow your description.
    I'd rather be fishing.

I forgot about the spring holding the ball in, . It should not have made noise.
In hindsight, maybe it was adhesion holding the ball.
I'll take it apart tomorrow. Thank you for the prompt response!
