Is there a safe way to lift my boat off the bunks to replace them with longer bunks, or should I just get everything ready and go to a boat launch and do it! I have plenty of tools that are cordless and could have new bunks all drilled and carpeted, ready to bolt up! I’m not sure my shop ceiling members would hold boat up( have 2 story shop)

Put in the water....then put your new bunks on.
If you’ve got the bunks made and carpeted, swapping them at the boat ramp is the easiest way. If you don’t want to make them first, it’s not hard to take a boat off a trailer. You just need 3 jack stands and a floor jack.
I just took my boat off the trailer to repaint it. I made new bunks while I had it off. I used a floor jack to lift the transom end then put a jack stand on both back corners. I then jacked up the front of the boat. I pulled the trailer forward until it was against the jack. I then put a 3rd jack stand right behind the trailer, as close as I could get it to the floor jack. Moved the trailer, jacked the front of the boat back up and put the jack stand at the first flat area where the front Vee stopped. With the 3 points of contact the boat was rock steady.
I cut a semi truck mud flap into 4”x6” pieces and put a double layer on top of the jack stands before sitting the boat on them. I had a wood block on top of the floor jack.
It literally took me 15 minutes to take the boat off the trailer. Nothing to it.
I would have dealer also check and make sure it doesnt have a hook in hull that will cause poor performance too. Better yet check yourself with a long straightedge. I bet there is.
A floor jack and a 4x4 will do it. Jack under the transom. You only need an inch or two.
Thanks a lot guys!
