    Default Excel 1751

I have a Excel Viper F4 1751 boat on order with a 60 Yamaha tiller. Was wondering about the motor being mounted flush or 1 hold up on the transom for the best overall performance. On all my previous boats we did 1 hole up but there hull was not like the Excel.

I would suggest calling or PM BigRiverMarine. He’s a sponsor on here and a dealer for Excel. He should be able to help. I have always started with motor flush if aluminum prop and one notch up with stainless. Then test by running, maybe moving up and down for best performance.

Excel tends to mount the motor deep. Not the same boat as yours but mine came mounted 1 hole down. I moved it to the 4th hole.

Update, I had made a call to Excel Boats and left a message about motor position on the transom. Would y'all believe that Dave from Excel Boats returned my call and informed me that mounting motor 1 hole up on transom would be the best for the Excel Viper F4 hull. Dave was very informative and very appreciative for me ordering one of there boats. Thankyou Excel Boats.
