Glad you found it. Any time changing coils should change condensers. If you can check gap on coils before pulling.
Well..I got the flywheel off with a puller and electric impact. The last little bit was tough but gave the puller a few good whacks with a hammer and it popped lose...I have the green circular coils and one had icky brown stuff oozing out of it...two big cracks in the body. The other had one obvious crack and had just started oozing a little. pretty sure the coils are toast!! So will get a couple ordered from iboats . The points look fine and were working ok apparently so not sure I'll mess with those. Might get the condensers though since they are not very expensive.

You can buy an infrared thermometer off of Amazon or most auto parts stores for pretty cheap. They are a great tool to have when diagnosing an outboard. You can easily measure the head and block temps while out on the water. If you have problems after installing new coils you may want to invest in one.
Success!! I got the new coils in and set the points. Bought one of the Frank robb coil locating rings..after four attempts at it figured that would be easiest route to finishing up. Not too expensive either. Took a little while to get it primed and what have you but tested it and it runs beautifully. I also had a 84 gamefisher 7.5 lying arouns so I'm going to attempt a rebuild on it as well...different system and one cylinder. You tube videos make it look like a breeze to fix and have it apart already. Doesn't seem too complicated. Hope to have a good spare or sell it. Haven't decided yet. It used to have a lot of power when it was running. Lake and fish .Here I come!!
