    Default Yamaha 60 foutstroke

    Hi
just wandering if anyone has problem starting a Yamaha 4 stroke pretty new motor 2013. I had a Mercury 4 stroke prior. It would crank just bumping it. The Yamaha is quiet when running. I mean real quiet ! Thanks

My Yamaha takes a second or so to crank. It's not an instantaneous thing like my old 2 stroke.

Don't know if this is your case or not, but my buddy's that I run quite a bit won't start if just turn key on and hit starter. Turn key on count to ten hit key and see if it dosn't start better. Something about fuel pump coming on to build pressure and something in computer keeps from starting. In the right sequence it buts off son as you touch the starter

I have a 2012 40hp Yamaha on my little boat. Cray is pretty dead on. Turn the key and wait about 10 seconds. And you are right, they are quiet. I've actually tried to start mine when it was already running!
