    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Happy New Year! I thought I updated my post! yes, I was able to open the powerhead of my TM, and found the RED wire broke off. So, I reconnected it. Also, adjusted the 1 wire foot-controlled cable for my left/right turns to make it tighter. So, no loose connection for the foot-controlled cable. It is a pain in the neck when you are on the water and discovered the foot control does not work for left/right turns while you are out there fishing and trying to get to the specific spot for jigging or dropshotting.

I hooked one of these to a new Newport Vessels trolling motor, 48 amp max draw, protected by a 50 amp breaker. The PWM quit working and started smoking. It also took out the battery meter on the trolling motor, but otherwise the trolling motor still works and still gets power through the devise, but the variable speed PWM does not work.

The description of the PWM is DC10-55V 12V 24V 36V 60A Reversible PWM Motor Speed Controller Switch, it looks identical to most of those that are for sale. In fact I bought two from different sources and they are the same, with the same description.

    What went wrong?
