Default Want to try an Offset seat pedestal

I'm thinking about buying an offset pedestal and using it instead the current straight one. The bases are swivel-eze 6 bolt style. Will the offset pedestal put more stress on the base of my seat at the floor? I don't want to bend anything.

My current pedestals have threads on the ends. I don't know if I should use one that just slides in with no threads?

Just fyi, I weight right around 200 lbs when I haven't been eating a lot of crappie :-)

    Thanks,

    JW

Might PM ATM. Think he used them on his previous boat.

I use the offset post and have no issues at all. One of the best purchases I have made for the boat beside Driftmasters. And I weigh more than you easily.Name: IMG_20141220_105708.jpg

I've used a offset seat pole for decades. Used it on my Glasstream 15' bass boat, my fishing partner's Tracker TX17, and am now using it on my ProCraft 16' bass boat. I'm 6'1" and 210# buck nekkid ... and there's been no problem with seat stress or floor mount stress.

    I have the Swivl-Eze 13" tall w/4" offset.
There is another brand, called Springfield Kingpin that sells for around half that. Springfield 1610413-OSS Kingpin Extension Post - 13" Offset Post - Springfield 1610413-OSS - Pedestal Boat Seats - Boat Seats - Galley/Cabin - Boatersland Marine

And you can browse this link for available brands & prices : https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...+boat&tbm=shop

Thanks for the info and links. Now I need to replace the cracked bronze pedestal bushings. All three cracked within 6 months after I bought the boat new in 2013. Those must be a weak link in the pedestal chain for swivl-eze?

If you are worried about it, EZ Pole makes one that offsets and braces off the floor. Never used em but I think they make em to offset 6'' or more if you want that much.
    Google them.
