Default 1st Crappie day of 2014

Well it my 3rd trip since the thaw and finally into some good numbers of Crappie. We caught 49 fish today. 80% were crappie with a few small yellows and bass mixed in. Kept 14 crappie from 10" up to 14"

Thanks Guys! 15 1/4" was our biggest last year. My buddy caught it. (My brother caught this one)

Went again today but the water was colder, dirtier and real low. Only got 20 fish and no crappie worth keeping.

Did see this guy lounging on a floating pier. He left as we got close and after diving under came up with what looks to be about a 3lb LM in his mouth.
Probably the biggest otter I've seen.

Wow, that is a big one! Ya don't want to see them around Jtown....very destructive/messy critters and it is legal to trap them. Fish killing machines that can wipe out a pond if they get in.
