A few years back a father and son were killed by a bunch of thugs. They took their truck and used it as a get away in a bank robbery. If I am out at all now I've got at least 1 on my person at all times.

I have one in the truck and on the boat each and every time. Carrying loaded firearms into Corps of Engineers camping areas is contrary to Title 36 of the US Code. So...I just keep the clip next to the 45 when in those areas. Once on my boat and in the water, the clip goes in the pistol, the chamber empty, ready for a round to shucked into it. If I am approached by authorities checking licenses, I just pop out the clip and if they ask, I tell them I have an unloaded, unconcealed gun aboard. It's perfectly legal.

The best gunfight to be in is the one you avoid, for sure. But the ole' colt 1911 is good insurance to have for idiots that have no regard for human life.

You're in Arkansas, so you're pretty close to me, if it's the same situation as it is here, people are getting rolled in the Walmart parking lots. Just a few days ago, some kids (in their 20's, they're punks to me) stole about 100 DVD's, then tried to retreat into some DOE (Department of Energy) property. Blooming idiots, DOE is heavily patrolled, it's where they made the bombs that hit Nagasaki and Hiroshima during World War II:D

Good idea, Mike. I can't believe how some of the folks I grew up and ran around with got on this here meth. Heck, if I wanted speed, there's a weight loss clinic that will write prescriptions to anyone and it's legal just down the road, it don't matter if you're 6'6" and weigh 99 pounds, they'll write them. These idiots ought to make it legal anyway. :p

Since the uniform laws for conceled carry permits it is no longer illegal for holders to carry in state parks.

My atty told me once, if I ever pulled my gun, it was to be emptied. It is hard to defend someone against someone in a wheel chair that has a rap sheet a mile lone. The jury always sides with them.

There are many many states that are refcipricol meaning that your CCP is leagla in a lot of other states but you need to check and see just which states honor yours.
I am alot less apt to be carrying if I am by myself than if I have the wife or if I have kids with me, I will not take any chances with them.
I feel that it is every persons responsibility to look out for the safety of their fellow man wheather it be from another person or from a wild critter with rabies.
Even if I am not carrying one on my person I am never very far from one because I am not very trusting in my old age. LOL
