Just FYI, I’ve seen them bound against operating by a piece of plastic jig body wedged in the wrong place.

Size: 176.2 KBI took out the batteries and can just get a hand on it. In fooling with it I unlatched a clamp I guess. So now it's kind of loose. Top is stuck on pretty good. Can't get two hands on it so I'm trying to figure out how to get the top off and see if I can see what the problem is. Any other strategies welcome. Thanks

That looks like a Mayfair. If it is you can replace the pump without having to take the housing off. It screws in from the top I think. If you have a kid or grandkid with skinny arms they can get it for you. It can be the devil to get a hand on.

Pull the horizontal black locking tab away from pump body and lift it up about 1/2".

Twist the cartridge(counter clockwise I think) to unlock and lift out.

    The cartridge is replaceable.

OK. I've got the replacement. I wonder how I get it to lock back in place with that clip. Any tips? Thanks

Should go back in and 1/4 turn to lock. This is much easier when you can actually get to the base mount. I swear they mount that stuff before they put the deck on. Don't know how they expect you to reach it.

Thanks. I mean best way to get the whole unit to lock back into that clip that holds it in position on the boat.
