Default A Few Pics For Scrapper and new the meat.......

Here are of few robots I built over the years. They all work. Thee smallest is a Sumo Combat robot, the Hexped, well it does the watusi and also can do the Michael Jackson Moon walk. DonG has seen it in action. The wheeled robots are line followers or maze solvers. Put it on a line and it will follow the line. Put it in a maze and it will find its way out. Autonomously.

It is not that I so smart, it is the fact that I have had fun jobs all my life. Well all except the government job in Cuba and Vietnam....

This is a r/c pontoon I built from scraps. I caught crappie with it. Fun.

This is a underwater ROV I built. It has a camera and I can drive it under water. I will be hooking this ROV up to my Garmin Chartplotter and recording som underwater stuff this coming summer.

Very impressive. That RC pontoon boat looks like a great idea to me. Im a shore bound fisherman and thought about getting a RC controled boat to troll bait around and set up some kind of auto release clip os the line would come free when the fish took the bait. Dont know what the range of these type boats would be though. Probably would want it to be self righting also if it was far from shore and turned over for some reason. What can you tell me about that boats range and how you caught fish with it.

Wal Mart sell one for about 50 bucks. It is waterproof and has a range of 1/8 to 1/4 miles. I had one, but I gave it to my neighbor for his grand kids. They love it.

The pontoon I built is complicated. It has a reel and a pole to control. Let out line, set the hook, reel the catch in. Plus you gotta steer it. It has a "sonar" too. Got the Humminbird wireless RF30. The transmitter is on the r/c and I have a Dick Tracy wrist watch type screen. Fun to play with.

I control the boat with a pic micro controller that reads the r/f data from the radio receiver in the boat. It has 8 channels of data. Simple design. Fun project...

    WOW!! Those are slick!!

What are you using to make your ROV sink?? Do you have a small compressor and relief valve or what?? I would guess it would have to have something that would release air or something so it could sink? Or does it use pure propulsion??

What are you using to set the hook and reel on the pontoon?? Are you using a large servo and levers? Gearbox and motor on reel?? Thats a slick set up! I was into R/C cars and trucks for a while I still have the stuff, and I have REALLY been tempted a few times to get them out and put them all back into running shape. My fav was playing with timing on a 50,000 rpm motor on a 1/10 scale monster truck. She would FLY!! The tires would spin so fast when you were holding it in your hand that they would go from about 4" to about 1 1/2 to 2" wide...much like a dragster on a burnout. lol
"But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 25:15

I like the insect one. They are all way cool though. Really dig the ROV, can't wait to see your results. Wish I had somethin cool to offer the board. Maybe someday they get that "Smell O Vision" going and I can let ya'll have an idea what it would be like to be in same room with me after I get good and starched up.

I use 4 small dc motors for thrusters. The ROV has a slight positive bouncy. I can drive the ROV down, up , left, right, nose up , and nose down. I can get down about 1 atmosphere with no trouble. I use a super servo to set the hook. I drive the servos with the pic controller, not the r/c receiver. The reel is also a servo that is modified for continuous rotation. Standard servo. It will lift 2 pounds easily. Also controlled by the pic processor.

I will see if I can find a close up of the rov thrusters.

DonG likes this bug too. It sings, and chirps and backs up when it runs into things.

I aint got too much to do, so it gives me something besides painting.......
