Tae is right...I use Bassboatsaver on mine. It will last longer if you do. From what I've seen you will need to rewax after few months. My opnion is, once you have lost the original shine and its been redone, its really hard to keep it that way. You have to keep it clean, and keep wax on it. I keep a cover on my boat under a carport so I do not have any trouble with it. You really need to put a few coats of wax on it. If you just put one coat on it and expect it to stay that way for as long as it did from the factory your mistaken. They really need coats of wax before you get a nice long lasting shine. Bassboatsaver is an AWSOME product. You can spray it on EVERYTHING...and I do. The seats, windshield, motor cowling, the boat, my truck, and it smells great too. It has some great UV protectors in it and will help your boat hold its shine between waxs. If your lake is nasty, it will also keep the nasty ring off the boat. Spray it on the boat when you come off the water and you'll be amazed at how clean it stays.
"But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 25:15

Scrapper, my 1989 Charger is down to the flake on the transom, seems the boat must have been stored with the sun hitting it most of the time. I have used Imron in the past on my dirt track car (midget), and it is a bit more difficult to use, but looks great when finished. It had a fiberglass body as well. Could I just mask off above the rub rail and paint the bottom with clear Imron after I rough it up with 1000 grit? the gunnel and interior have been covered and still look great, I just don't want the finish to get worse than it is now.

The metalflake is exposed so I am not sure this would work for that.

Poli Glow fiberglass gelcoat restorer is a good choice. Just make sure that the surface is clean before the application and you will have the best gelcoat surface for a long time.
