    Question hal-flies


    Question, Hal-flies, I see alot of post, from the south east about, catching crappie, on them, what are they, a hair jig or what? Where can you buy them,
    Thanks for any input, ahead of time.

    Hal-flies are made in the great state of Georgia. Warner Robins, Georgia to be exact. The owner of the company, Mr. Billy Wilson is a great guy!

    It is a maribou (hair) jig......as opposed to the plastic counter-part.....
    I won't be at work........I'm feelin' crappie today!

    Hmm...I thought it was a combination of plastic body
    and hair tail. I have seem them work great in FL..but
    have never had that much luck on them in TN.

    what we call hal flies around here are plastic bodies with a feather (or hair?)tail. lots of folks at wateree use em trolling.
    listen with your eyes---its the only way to beleive what you hear...

    its feather tails with a soft plastic body on a no barb jig, you buy them from on cards like single roadrunners. They come in 2 sizes I know of, I have a few different colors and sizes in my tackle box just incase.

    Another picture of what they look like.
    The one on the left is a 1/16 jelly belly.
    the one on the right is a1/24 chenille.
    I usually troll with the jelly belly and shoot docks with the chenille.

    You are right....it has a plastic body and a hair tail....sorry I should have made myself more clear, I was talking specifically about the tail not being plastic.....

    It has a jelly body and a hair tail......
