Default How do I fish my condos?

Ok I'm sinking my condos in anywhere from say 15 ft of water to about 25 ft. In the deeper water near the creek channel i'm building my condos to 15 high, only about 8 ft high in the 15 ft of water. Now in general how should I go about fishing these condos during diff times of year. I'm sinking them in places that I'm sure hold fish during the different seasons. Do you use slip floats and tightline different depths around the cover? Whats the best way to know where these fish are hiding or suspending on your man made cover?

Do you think you could make super compact crappie condo's by attaching like 5 or 6 10' lengths of decent width chain to a cement bucket but only one end of each piece of chain, then attaching something that floats to the other end. I coud also attch things to the chains. Do you think the sounds would keep the fish away or would they get used to it.

I think using the chains would be a bit heavy and a little overbaord. I think that sticking to wood materials, or stuff like pvc will give you best results and longer lasting condos

plus you would always stay hung up on the chain and you would never get unstuck without breaking off or moving the bucket. If you hung your float and it came off, the chain would fall and that one would be useless. Now if you hung a cane condo you could get it loose pretty easy without disturbing the whole thing and running the fish off too much.

I make floating condo's. I fish same very deep lakes in southern Missouri. I sink a 5 gal bucket of cement with 2' of gal chain in it and tie a rope to the chain. I float both old trees at different depth's with a piece of fun noodle ties with cable ties to the top tree giving me 24+ feet of crappie cover. I also have made PVC trees from 3" PVC (I buy damaged PVC from Lowe's - cheap) with ½' pvc limbs, drill holes very 4-5 foot for the limbs (3-4 sets of limbs per 10' of 3" pipe) and in the top of the 3" pipe cut a small piece of fun noodle, run my rope up the middle of the 3" pipe and tie it to a 3" cap with 2 hope in it, place the cap on the pipe and I use 1 small stainless steel screw to hold the cap to the pipe, I am thinking of using scrap vinyl siding and J channel for my arms using pop rivets to hold them in place.
