Default Lesser known baits and lures

What are some lures and baits you use that aren’t typically seen crappie lures/baits? What kind of weird stuff are you using to catch crappies? Also, what about some lesser known companies making cool jigs or other lures? Companies maybe not many people have heard of but are good quality?

I think the least known bait I've ever used to catch Crappie with is the Brook Silverside minnow. (in the past)

As far as non-commercial baits, I use the Slabanator Jigs series (custom made) of plastic jig bodies. (current use)

I love the Haddock Kreepy Krawlers. They are like the old Gene Larew Crappie Spider's but they have dual turbo tail instead single turbo tail. I found some years ago on EBay. Apparently they were made by a company in CA for saltwater fishing. I bought a ton of them and they are great crappie baits. 100 Assorted Creature baits 2 3/4" - Soft Plastic Baits Lot - 100 Qty - Tackle | eBay

I make some blade baits that fall into that category. One is a prop spin where a propeller is attached behind the head with a bead before tying the rest. Another is a Tail gunner or spinner where the swivel is tied in at the bend and blade is attached. Both style of baits work well for crappie. I do sell jigs on occasion when asked by members here. I do tie some nice jigs.Name: IMG_3991.jpg

What about the tiny hair jig, the Popeye? I still use them when they are slow to bite

Limits tackle makes some decent baits , but so do lots of other smaller bait suppliers
The list is long, Bobs jigs are good , crazy angler as well , thermocline lures and the list goes on
Jungle Jim ties some deadly jigs , the use of the bait in most cases is way more important than the bait ….facts

I prefer steak over tofu. So, I feed Crappie live bait for their last supper.
