Default Question for those using the Fishing Specialties Livescope Pole

Just got my first livescope unit and I think the fishing specialties pole is going to be the best for my portable setup. My only worry is that the ball bracket adapter that supports all views does not click into position. You have to manually position it. Is that anything to worry about?

I did not like the ball mount so I put a fish obsessed 0 degree on my pole.

What did you not like about it? Is this the one you have? DOMINATOR-ULTIMATE LIVESCOPE ADJUSTABLE PERSPECTIVE MODE MOUNT WITH ZE

With that one the transducer sits a little to the side of the pole and is not directly in line with, right?

Default Question for those using the Fishing Specialties Livescope Pole

Just my opinion but I had mine on a pole mount, and then on a Turret mount that was 12 volt independent control.
Both are ditched now and on the trolling motor shaft.
I think that is the best way to go.
    At least for my needs.

I have a tiller boat and hardly ever fish up front. I also use spot lock a lot and from what I have read it doesn't work well with spot lock as it's always adjusting.

I started with a manual pole I built, it was connected to the boat with Ram D components. Using the Ram components allowed me to make sure the pole was perpendicular to the waters surface. The turret had a bulls eye level on it. This set up worked well.

Once in position there is a screw to hold it in place worked ok for me just have to line it up correctly and put in the screw to hold it in place ! I started out with the fishing specialities pole and it worked good but I now have the Rite-Hite Turrent and it’s so much easier to deal with and hands free! I fish a lot where current is going one way and the wind blowing another therefore I hated it being on the trolling motor shaft!
    Too blessed to be stressed!

I always like the idea of a trolling motor mounted pole vs something hangin off the side. Mine is from a guy in central Indiana, Jeff of RodRack is his business. I turn mine with a 4ft piece of 1/2" hydraulic line with a T handle on one end, and a 3/8"socket extension brazed on the other. The top of the shaft has 3/8"socket welded on, so I can remove the hyd line when not in use. It works great and doesn't clutter up the nose of the boat.

Yep that’s the one I have. It moved too much or too easy when bumped requiring me to readjust.
