    Default Good times for sure

We decided to take a little break from our ridiculous busy schedule.
The kiddo won her a spot on the all state choir audition Saturday and Sunday was our first day off.
We opted for a leisurely visit to my friend's ranch about an hour from us to ketch a few fish .
When we rolled up it was like WOW , not the best idea this weekend .....
it was his annual church camp out weekend , just PACKED with people and tents and kids.
So we opted to head to the farthest away lake on the place and see if the fish way over there were playful.
first stop was painfully slow , 2 bass and a few bluegill and a channel cat ....
of course we didn't have any actual species in mind , we just wanted to ketch fish.
second stop was EVEN slower ....one bass and one bluegill ......
midday is not the best time to target fish in semi clear water small lakes for sure , but onward I say ....
third stop was nice , the fish were playful and lot's on combatants were in the mix , some bluegill , catfish ,bass and crappie played along with the program .
we eventually decided since it was around 3 that the crew of campers had probably left the big lake and opted for a last stop crappie hammer if possible .
Sure enough a hundred plus some people and stuff EVERYWHERE had magically went away and the entire area looked as if they were never there !
told my wife it might be pretty slow , I imagine they hammered them all weekend off that main dock for sure.
well I wasn't too far from wrong , it took a bit of quiet and stealth to get them there crappie going again and they were FOR SURE really deep , like on the bottom deep ....
we left about 5 and got to his place around 1 , we managed well over a hundred assorted fish total on 4 stops in different lakes , fish were DEEP at every spot and nobody was biting hard ...
EXCEPT for the occasional large bass striking our floats here and there .....
crappie only bit in 2 of the spots we hit and were likely about half of the 125 or so fish we managed to ketch ....
5 to 8 foot deep with pinch on floats and micro jigs got it done ...
I tried a regular size bait for a bit and got ONLY 2 bites with it .
    it was for sure ,,,,,
    Good Times
all fish were released as well ....
on a side note : my wife seemed to ketch bigger fish most of the visit ....so sure go ahead and teach her to ketch fish , if you don't mind the mine fish is bigger than your fish, bird chirping in your ear program ....

we don't really do much of the who got the biggest one very often
sometimes there is a lil banter , but we are typically more interested in the total count thing
and our all time favorite is FOR SURE ....a swing and a miss , you do much hook setting like ya mean it and don't ketch ....and ....
You will hear about missing a bite more than you want to in our crowd ....:
