I am not worried about costs . I have more jigs than I will ever use now. Several jig makers send me baits and most are really good. I been making this junk just to prove baits don't have to be pretty .

I have preached Presentation skills come first myself for years, thanks for posting. As for Black Crappie which is what we catch most in our Coastal Rivers your colors, profiles, size overall, smells (I still inject the insides of my tubes), make the difference in catching numbers of big Blacks. The little stuff hits most anything if competing with other little stuff wadded together.

Crappie in my area mostly White Crappie . Seldom see schools . Big ones seem to roam in the open more . Presentation means everything. Most want to bait sitting just above their nose . Seen them run if you jig it at all. No scents or special colors but holding it where they see an easy meal .

Red and white is one of my top 3 colors.

Slow days just don't happen with livescope. Once you find them it is game on.

Tried fishing a drinking water lake with my Walmart sack jigs. People kept telling me, Black Crappie in clear water were more finicky. Well they bit my trash jigs yesterday . Kept 17 and all were Black but one. Also caught a couple Bass on it. A 4 lb Bass will put a bend in a jig pole. Same jig I used last 3 or 4 trips to catch limits of White Crappie with. If you super glue the thread wrap, jigs should work for several trips. Tie you some today and if you have confidence , will work good as anything tied or plastic
