    Default A great save.

Took my grandson out this morning. We did pretty well, catching probably 45 fish and keeping 24 to clean. He proclaimed it his best day of fishing ever, so it was a big success for us.

Evidently the line on the rod he was using was getting old, it broke on him while he was pulling a big crappie. There was a couple of feet of line on the hook and he dove almost in the lake and grabbed the line and got his fish.

To top that off, the same thing happened again. Yep, saved the catch two different times in identical fashion. The second time I got a pic.

Awesome!! I’ve been guilty of not changing out my line often enough too. Also, re tie your lure after catching a lot of fish. I’ve lost some big slabs over not doing this.

Won’t deny that boy his catch….lol. That’s awesome and sounds like he had a blast. Good job, good memories. Now get some new line on those reels…

Yeah, I've been very guilty of not retying my lure and having it break off. But that sounds like a great day with your son. I never would have been quick enough to grab the tag end of that line. And if I did it probably would have broken again.

That is awesome. Great saves, and great pic. Best day fishing ever is right. You obviously need new line. Send me a PM with the size line you use and I'll see if I have a sponsor product for you.

Might be able to get rid of the landing net. He's got skills. A great save.
