Got to teach my Nephew a little about Livescope yesterday. After a brief discussion about what was in or out and how to tell if your bait is left or right he started smacking them. My Daughter-in-Law's hand tied 1/32oz jigs were the ticket for pulling most of these slabs off some of my manmade structures that are about 8 years old! Really enjoyed our trip.
CATCH A BIG-UN
Nice catch. What material did you use for the 8-year-old structure?
Thanks for posting report/pic.
Yes, as a matter of fact, I do have a retirement plan...FISHING!
Yes, to determine if you're left or right of where you need to be, slightly rock your pole or trolling motor left or right of the fish. Yes, the fish will disappear for a second but you can quickly determine if your bait is to the left or right. Another tip....don't try to slowly pull your jig over to the fish. Takes too long. Lean your pole in the direction you need to go and rip your bait up and "almost" out of the water. Now let it go straight down and usually, you'll be right on the fish. As you know, the fish and the bait have to be the same brightness to be lined perfectly left or right.
As far as my manmade structures. I have some tubs of concrete and rocks with several "oak" 4x4's standing up in them. I also have some stakebeds built out of cypress stakes still producing slabs that were put in in the 90's!
