Which model you pick Minn Kota is hard to beat. Especially if you’re gonna be fishing around any grass or aquatic vegetation. Good luck.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.

I recommend replacing your pull cord with one of these and keep the original as a spare. I did on my ULTREX.

The Minn kota edge is their basic trolling motor. I works fine if you don't want all of the bells and whistles. I would get a 55lb instead of the 45lb model for your size boat. For installation it all depends on how easy it is to access the bolts your mount. If access is easy do it yourself. Removing plate up front should provide you access to the mounting bolts on the trolling motor. Then it's just a matter of removing four bolts and dismounting the trolling motor. You just reverse the steps for adding the new trolling motor. If the bolts are difficult to access it will be worth spending the $100 to have them do it.

I have a Maxxum. I have not heard anything good about the Edge. Buddy of mine has one and says it’s noisy and he has had problems with it.
