    Default Another aluminum boat question

Currently own a 93 Tracker TX17. Looking at either a 2008 Triton VT17 with 50 hp 2 stroke, 2003 Lowe 1752 with a 50 hp 4 stroke, 2006 PT 175 Bass Tracker, 2005 G3 Eagle 175 with 75hp 4 stroke OR just swapping my motor for a 60hp 4 stroke. I want the widest front deck of these and pros and cons. I mainly crappie fish in East Tennessee on river system lakes. Any thoughts/help is greatly appreciated. What I have is the first boat I have ever owned.

In that class is the aluminum triton 18’ that is very similar to the ranger. It’s wide up front and good storage. One of my favorites. Don’t know anything about the 17’.

Look at the Excel 18' x 60'' boats called Stalker side console . You can get 3 pedastal plates put in where you can run one or two seats up front.

17 footers with 50hp with 2 people will be very slow if that even matters.
If you get a 4 stroke you will love it.
Sight unseen, I would want the g3 if it's in good condition.
Or a 17.5 lowe with a 75 if you can find one.
    good luck, keep us posted.

My new bass tracker has a 75 mercury 4 stroke, with 2 people it will run about 37-38 mph. If that helps

My bass tracker 175 with a 75 Merc 4 stroke will hit 43 with 2 of us in the boat and all of the gear I have in it! Believe me, I have ALOT of gear in it! Had it on the St John’s River in Florida several times and a couple of different bodies of water in Ky! I won’t lie, wind does push the backside around a bit, but I also put the 80lb thrust Terrova on mine to help control it better. I love it!
