Thought about it but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Let us know how it goes.
I just bought a 13Fishing freefall ghost inline reel to use on my 13ft rod. I noticed the other day that when slack got in the line on my spinning reel it would get tangled and foul up. I got the inline thinking it would not foul plus I didnt want to try an upside down baitcaster. Anyone else here use this type of setup on your jig pole?

Kirby had one video that I watched. Not really a lot of mention other than the brand and basic functions.
Sounds like same video I watched.
I use the Eagle Claw inline fishing reel for spider riggin ... small profile, great drag system, nice big handles ... even has a reel to frame gap that line can be payed out without triggering (cool feature for spider riggin) ...
Amazon.com
I do not like this reel for any type of jigging in any method that may occasionally may need to βpitchβ the jig ... setting the reel to freewheel enough to pitch a jig is challenging without backlashing ...
I put spinning reels back on my jig rods ...

I single/two pole with the same reels in the link Rickie posted. My only complaint is on the side opposite of the handle there is a space where the line can come off the side of the spool. For pitching I just pull extra line off and hold in my left hand, then with the rod in my right hand pendulum the lure out and release the slack.
I have a couple of small plastic reels like BnM sells that ive tried on my long jigging rods.
But as mentioned the small diameter line gets wound up inside the reel.
They are easy to take apart and fix it, but not long and its happening again.
Fly line with a leader might work.
I recently bought an 11 rear seat rod, and i didnt like the looks of the small spinning reel i put on it.
So i bought a small Daiwa 40XD underspin reel for it.
I peeled off about 40 of the prespooled 4# test and attached 6# in its place.
I feel its a much better fit for that rear seat rod, but i havent used it yet.
I usually just strip off the line i need, so the reel is just a storage device.
But with this reel i could make a cast if i chose to do it.
I tried one out this past weekend, I did not care for it at all. It fished just fine , till I caught a fish, It was a 8 inch spotted bass, almost impossible to reel in, and
took for ever. I will be putting the Abu black max back on this rod.
