I use the trigger spin Zebco reels for my jogging poles. No line spooling off or backlashes. Pull trigger, hold it, flip jig.

I've got a couple Eagle Claw inline ice reels like Rickie's that I use vertical jigging/ drifting jigs on Sam Heaton Super Sensitive jigging rods. I don't even try to cast with them. I really like the combination and their performance. The only issue is sometimes the small diameter line gets caught under the spool. It is easy enough to take the spool off to clear the line & after a while I figured out how to keep it from happening often. I suspect there will be more of them in my future.

Just a follow up. I got a chance to use my 13Fishing Black Betty Freefall this past weekend. Overall I liked the way it fished. I have it mounted on a 13' ACC rod. I had the line skip the spool and twist around the spindle shaft once. After I made a few adjustments the combo was good to go. Need more fishing time
