Default When color DOES matter ....

So once again even though it might be said and practiced with great success , in some spots and at certain times color DOES matter.
Case in point was an exactly same spot day 2 totally different weather conditions. Storm rolled thru and dropped the temperature outside and the water cooled a bit too.
Walked up dropped blue , not a peck , not even a nudge ?
Only took one or 2 colors with me and changed up thinking surely not EVERY one of the hundreds on the beds left town.
Now obviously I am an old school crappie ketcher and rarely get to use fancy electronics and have to just guess my way along on a many visits to the water.
For sure at this time of year ORANGE is in my pocket and tied one on .......
Well guess what happened .....KABOOM ! and to make it more obvious something huge (probably a bass) grabbed my pretty bait on my light set up and schooled me like a kindergartener ....
It was FAST FURIOUS AND O V E R just like dat as it snapped my line and took my jig ....
good news , had another ORANGE bait and went back at it , funny thing is in all them spots there was no bite , all the sudden there it is , bite after bite ....go figure ....
So H shows up and I tell him it has to be orange or nevermind and he says whatever and starts pitching a natural color ....
it got down right hilarious I tell ya, ONLY lil yella bass would bite it, as I wore out some nice crappie fisheez beside him.
as always I let them all swim on and back to work I went after 30 or so ....
KABOOM is the word ya"ll ....just saying
p.s. the good news is him using his go to gave me a camera man ....

The Carrot strikes again. The slabs had no trouble finding and seeing it and eating it, again. Not a coincidence is it.

there used to be a color called texas toast back in the day and it was rather productive , orange/caramel top , lemon bottom with black pepper flakes in it , loaned out more than one of them, on them days when color DID matter .....
