Can be a boat load of stuff or as simple as a few jigheads and a bag of plastics shoved in my pocket when I hit the banks

My son is a neat freak when it comes to his boat. Everything has a purpose and a place. We've had some good arguments when I show up with my stuffed Walmart bags!! I don't guess I have it anymore but I had an old picture of my trying to put an old kitchen sink in the boat.....He Said, "I know that's right"!!

My son is a neat freak when it comes to his boat. Everything has a purpose and a place.

Thing is, every item has a purpose and are especially needed for certain lakes and conditions. Examples are easy to imagine
In a small jon boat doing it over the side can be risky - and messy! What do ya do without a can ???
Ever try cutting braid with your teeth or a knive?
Ever try getting the hook(s) out of a large pickerel's mouth?!!
The more a fish jumps all over the place, the more likely you'll lose the fish and the lure without a net nearby.
Sunglass and hat/visor cut eye strain and glare.
Bug spray keep those biting bugs from stinging and me having to swat at them constantly.
How many fish have you lost on a dull hook? ... now where did I put the file?
Rain possible? Better have the poncho!

Granted, fishing from shore wouldn't require half of what's listed, but even then, the rest are still must-haves.

As I mentioned in a previous thread, I’m down to a minimalist approach. A pretty small Fanny pack with an assortment of jigs and mostly TM baits, floats, shot and the like. Hip boots, and about the only mandatory extras are some bandaids, a bottle of water, and because of some health concerns a cell phone. You don’t need much for a half day on the water.

I don't carry alot . Storage on my boat all ropes , life vests, tool kit , rags and such . 3 rods most of the time and sometimes a cooler . Take a milk crate with a few tubes and leads in a plastic bag , a small box of hand tied jigs , scales , test weight , and a few small tools . Most folks carry way too much fishing tackle in my opinion .
