Mostly long rod but for me ,rests against forearm and hurts fish
I got all of the above and I like em all for different reasons at different times including my ESP with the Tennessee grip and the custom ice reel seats I had put on some 6 fters.

I prefer the full cork grip. As for the "fighting Butt" grip, I think someone from the deep salt water brought that term with them. The fighting butt has been the end that goes into a fighting belt when fighting marlin, tuna and other creatures of the deep blue...

This is where I saw it at.
Maybe they should change it. Seems to be a pretty offensive name.
Doesn't bother me. Different strokes for different folks. Some like rear seat, some middle seat. Some like rods like the ACC Crossover or Southern Crappie Rods Stumpjumper or the Precision Crappie Rod fighting butt.

Butt definition, the end or extremity of anything, especially the thicker, larger, or blunt end considered as a bottom, base, !
I can remember many times fishing with a 10' 12' or 13' rod I wished I had a fight BUTT rod while crappie fishing. There are days we caught more wipers than crappie and had a sore arm and thumb at the end of the day.
I have most of the ACC rods but I don't have the crossover handle. I also prefer the mid seat for my style of fishing. I have a friend that uses the rear seat and loves them so it comes down to a personal preference and how you fish and if you use pole holders or not..

I have one rod like this and I very much do not like it. I cast 90% of the time and as I finish the cast and start to position the rod for use, a split second with the only thing touching my hand is that stupid little knob, feels so bad, and so uncomfortable.

It just seems to me that the crossover would make a 12’ rod really tip heavy. I would like to hold one though. Just to see how it feels.
Actually the closer the reel to the butt the lighter the tip I would think unless you're trying to hold the rod at the reel area.

Often wondered why them livescopers wanting something lighter and longer don't this. Stops all the wrist work and most of the lever weight
