    Father in Law said years ago DNR was releasing catfish into an oxbow they were hunting and camping by. The guy said he couldn't give them any but if they fished there they would bite. All they had in camp for bait were hot dogs. Caught all they needed for dinner!

    Somebody posted awhile back about using hot dogs for catching crappie. Said it worked great.

    For many years hot dogs have been common bait for late ice Northern Pike.
